Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA): “The Federal Government, yes, can do most anything in this country.” This was the Congressman’s reply to a questioner at a town hall meeting just recently in which she questioned the federal government’s authority limits, citing health legislation.
It is clear that the Democrats are in trouble with the Congress at 11% approval rating. Eleven percent. Put another way, 89 out of 100 people polled disapprove of how Congress is doing.
I think it is fair to say that Congressional approval numbers are making a noise that dwarfs that of the “Dean Scream”…
…which was heard around the world when then Vermont Governor Howard Dean, in his run-up to the Democratic presidential nomination, all but expelled the methane from his campaign’s presumed renewable energy sources. But, as with methane and politics, there is alway plenty to go around. Light a candle?
Follow-up: By popular demand, here is the original audio from Howard Dean’s scream. It all happened following the candidates third place finish in the 2003 Iowa Causus.
