I have to say that the release of the late Dr. Atkins’ medical records to P.E.T.A. masking itself as a vegeterian physicians group is apalling. Worse still, is the erroneous reporting with regard to Atkins’ medical condition at the time of his death. I praise USA TODAY for a clarification article on page one, but they weren’t the ones who got it wrong in the first place. This is a further demonstration as to why the new so-called medical information privacy act needs more teeth than a passing sign-off at exam time.
